2 Week Sicily Itinerary
Two weeks lets you connect different parts of Sicily and spend longer in the places that draw you there. A stay in the countryside, another evening in Ortigia or time with a local producer can become part of the plan. This route is a starting point for a tailor-made two-week tour.
How to Spend 2 Weeks in Sicily
Fourteen days gives you room to travel through western, southern and eastern Sicily while spending several nights in selected areas. You can combine Palermo with the Trapani countryside, continue towards archaeological sites and Baroque towns, then finish around Etna. There is also more scope to choose accommodation for the pleasure of staying there.
Start by establishing how many nights your flights allow. A fourteen-day trip commonly means thirteen nights, and arrival and departure times affect how much you can do at either end.
We then decide where the longer stays belong. That might mean more time around Ragusa for food and small towns, or several nights near the coast. Airports, driving distances and the season help shape the sequence. The extra days should make the holiday feel less pressured from one stage to the next.
One Week or Two Weeks in Sicily?
One Week in Sicily
A one-week itinerary benefits from a selective route. You can get to know one area or connect a few destinations, accepting that other places will wait. If your dates are fixed at around a week, our 7-Day Sicily Itinerary offers a starting point for considering those choices.
Two Weeks in Sicily
With two weeks, you have more room between the major visits. A town can become somewhere to spend an evening and the following morning. You can stay for dinner at a rural property, fit in a producer visit or leave an afternoon free without immediately having to move on.
A Suggested 2 Week Sicily Itinerary
For fourteen days and thirteen nights, one possible starting allocation is two nights in Palermo, three around Trapani, two near Agrigento, four in the south-east and two near Etna. The south-eastern nights could be divided between Ragusa and Syracuse if both areas matter to you.
This is a planning framework. We adjust it to your interests and flights, and can reverse the direction.
Palermo & Western Sicily
Begin with Palermo’s historic centre, architecture and markets, collecting the hire car when you leave the city if it is unnecessary during your stay.
Continue towards Trapani and allow time to choose among the surrounding places. Erice, the salt pans and coastal stops need not all happen on the same day. Three nights give you scope for a western stay with some breathing room, including time to sit down to a meal rather than always eating between visits.
Southern Sicily & the Baroque South-East
Continue towards Agrigento, giving the Valley of the Temples time separate from the onward drive. Your accommodation can also provide a quieter pause between more urban stages.
Further east, consider staying around Ragusa or Modica if the towns and food of this area particularly interest you. Evenings become part of the visit: a walk, scacce for supper, another look around the following morning. We would choose a base here for that reason, rather than treating every town as an excursion from elsewhere.
Syracuse, Mount Etna & Eastern Sicily
Spend time in Syracuse and Ortigia before heading north. Noto can fit into this part of the route; the exact sequence depends on where you stayed previously.
Around Etna, choose accommodation according to how you want to spend the final days. A volcanic outing, time in Catania or a visit to Taormina are possible priorities. They do not all need equal space, and the return flight helps determine the final night’s location.
Countryside, Coast or Islands
These options reshape the route rather than automatically extending its list of stops. A countryside stay could replace a town base; a few coastal nights might mean spending less time in another region.
An island stay needs its own allowance for transfers and time there. If that appeals, we would revise the mainland stages around it. Two weeks still rewards choosing what matters most.
Experiences to Include in Two Weeks in Sicily

Cities & Cultural Heritage
Longer stays let you separate major visits. Archaeology can occupy one part of your time in Syracuse, with Ortigia explored on another day. In Palermo, you can return to a neighbourhood that interests you instead of seeing it only while passing through.

Food & Wine
A conversation about wine or cooking can lead to a visit developed around your interests. With more time in the relevant area, it is easier to accommodate the people hosting you. We confirm arrangements individually and can organise local transfers for tastings.

Countryside & Smaller Towns
Staying in agriturismi (farm-stays) can give rural Sicily a place in the holiday beyond the view from the car. We consider nearby towns, dinner arrangements and the property itself when deciding whether an additional night would be worthwhile.

Nature & Mediterranean Landscapes
Etna, agricultural landscapes and time along the coast offer different ways to spend a day outdoors. We match proposed outings to the season and your interests, leaving enough flexibility to adjust plans when conditions make another day more suitable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our private tours are tailor-made journeys created exclusively for you and the people travelling with you. They are not group departures and do not follow a fixed programme.
Most of our travellers choose a self-drive journey: you travel independently in a hire car, following a route designed around your interests, your pace and the time you have available. Flights are booked separately, while we arrange the accommodation, car hire and other services included in your proposal.
Where it adds value, we can include private local guides, transfers, wine tastings, cooking classes and other experiences. A private guide does not normally accompany you throughout the journey unless this has been specifically requested and included.
The itineraries shown on our website are starting points. Every journey is adapted to the traveller, drawing on our first-hand knowledge of Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia, Tuscany and Greece.
All our journeys are fully tailor-made.
We don’t work with fixed programmes or pre-designed packages. Every itinerary is created from scratch, based on your travel style, your interests and the time you have available.
Of course, our experience allows us to suggest routes and ideas that have proven to work well, but these are always adapted and refined for each traveller. No two journeys are exactly the same.
This approach gives you the flexibility to shape the trip around what matters most to you — whether that means a slower pace, specific locations, particular types of accommodation or selected experiences along the way.
In the end, the goal is not to fit you into an itinerary, but to design an itinerary that fits you.
We primarily work with boutique hotels, small historic properties and charming independent stays.
These are places with a strong sense of identity — where architecture, atmosphere and local hospitality reflect the character of the destination. Rather than large resorts or standardised hotels, we look for accommodations that feel authentic, personal and connected to their surroundings.
Depending on the journey, this can include countryside estates, agriturismi, coastal hideaways or small town hotels, always selected for their quality, location and overall experience.
Our goal is not simply to provide a place to stay, but to ensure that each accommodation becomes a natural and meaningful part of the journey.
The planning and booking process is straightforward, with our team supporting you at every stage.
It usually starts with a first contact, where we learn about your travel plans, preferences and timing. Based on this, we prepare a tailor-made proposal, including a suggested route, selected accommodations and any experiences you may wish to include.
Once the proposal is ready, you will receive it in a digital itinerary format, accessible through a private link. This allows you to explore your journey in a clear and structured way — including the route, accommodations, experiences and practical details — all in one place, at your own pace.
You can review the proposal and we refine it together until everything feels right — in terms of itinerary, style and overall experience. When you are ready to proceed, you can confirm the trip by completing a short booking form directly within the itinerary.
Once confirmed, we take care of all the arrangements. Before departure, you will receive all the necessary documents and practical information for your trip.
Throughout the process, you are supported by one dedicated team, ensuring clarity, continuity and a smooth experience from start to finish.
