Our Philosophy

Trinakria Tours is a Mediterranean Travel House born in 2006 with a single mission: to design tailor-made journeys across the most soul-stirring corners of the Mediterranean.

Our story began in Sicily, an island we don’t just know—we feel it. Our connection to this land is so deep that we even created ShineSicily.com, a dedicated space for its wonders. Over the years, our curiosity led us to expand toward Sardinia, Puglia, Tuscany, Crete, the Peloponnese, Albania, and the Cyclades. While our map grew, our philosophy remained the same: every journey must be deeply connected to the local pulse.

As a boutique tour operator, we don’t believe in “one size fits all.” We curate experiences for travelers who seek the hidden layers of a destination—its authentic flavors, its untold history, and its silent landscapes.

Each journey is designed individually, adapting every itinerary to the preferences and sensibilities of each traveler or group. Our goal is not to offer standard packages, but to create unique travel experiences that reflect the character of both the destination and the traveler.

Our Method & Impact

We work with a trusted network of collaborators and local experts throughout the Mediterranean: charming boutique hotels, countryside accommodations, local guides, food producers and creators of authentic experiences. They help us preserve the essence of each territory and offer a form of hospitality that is deeply Mediterranean.

In recent years we have also embraced an approach inspired by Regenerative Tourism. We believe travel can be enriching not only for the traveler, but also for the communities and landscapes that make the journey possible. For this reason we support cultural, social and agricultural initiatives that seek to generate real value in the territories where we operate.

Our way of working is simple: we listen, design and refine each itinerary until it reflects exactly the journey our travelers imagine. We like to think that the true success of our work comes when travelers arrive at their destination and simply say:

Boris is a Sicilian entrepreneur based in Barcelona and the founder of Trinakria Tours (2006), a boutique operator specializing in bespoke journeys across Sicily and the Mediterranean. With a diverse professional background — from professional kitchens to technical support and social marketing — he has shaped a vision of travel grounded in authenticity, sustainability, and positive territorial impact. A strong advocate of regenerative tourism, he supports projects that reinvest part of the company’s profits into local communities, including research into innovative plant-based polymer materials for intensive agriculture. Passionate about Mediterranean culture, he balances his entrepreneurial work with gastronomy and outdoor living.

Partner and Head of the Customer and Booking Area

Giovanni is a partner and Head of Client Services and Booking at Trinakria Tours. Originally from Ragusa in southeastern Sicily, he has been based in Barcelona since 2008, when he joined the company. With a professional background in tourism and experience in international hospitality and at the headquarters of Hertz in Dublin, he has contributed to the development of projects in Sardinia, Puglia, and Tuscany. Approachable and solution-oriented, he guides travelers in planning bespoke Mediterranean travel and authentic local experiences, ensuring attentive, tailor-made service. A mountain enthusiast, he enjoys hiking and gravel cycling in his free time.

Travel Curator for Greece

Tassos is a creative tourism specialist and travel designer with a deep connection to Greece. After living for more than a decade in Barcelona and meeting the Trinakria Tours team through Ass. Cult. La Miranda, he returned to Greece to collaborate professionally as Head of Greece travel design. Based in Kalamata (Peloponnese), he and his partner founded their own company focused on authentic and creative travel experiences. Tassos curates alternative routes and cultural activities across mainland Greece and Crete, designing bespoke itineraries that reveal the country’s true character through sustainable, immersive, and locally driven travel.

The owners of accommodations, local guides and experience creators with whom we collaborate in Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia, Tuscany, Greece and Albania are an essential part of our story and of our way of understanding travel.

ARE YOU AN ONLINE AGENCY?

Yes, we are. Our work method is designed so all the travelers who contact us can receive detailed, easy-to-consult and clear information about the package we have prepared in comfort at their home. In addition, we are constantly improving to ensure that our service is more efficient, faster and more straightforward. We are a small Tour Operator, but our computer platform is very advanced.

DO YOU HAVE OFFICES?

Our offices are located in the heart of the old neighborhood in Barcelona. We share a co-working space with other tourism professionals. Generally, we make the first contact via e-mail or telephone, but as soon as we clearly define the type of tour you want, if you prefer, we will be happy to arrange a personal interview in our offices over a cup of coffee to get to know each other and talk about the tour. Otherwise, if you are not in Barcelona or prefer to do everything via e-mail or phone, our system is agile, fast and practical.

WHAT GUARANTEES DO I HAVE THAT YOU ARE A RELIABLE TOUR OPERATOR?

The first and most important assurance you should count on is your own instinct. After contacting us and receiving the first travel proposal via e-mail, you will be able to get your own idea about us. Our legal information: Trinakria Tours, SL registered in the Mercantile Registry of Barcelona, ​​Volume 39243, Folio 0106, Sheet/Dup 342825. The title-license granted by the Government of Catalonia under our request is GC-1441.

WHAT DO YOUR PACKAGES INCLUDE?

Our tours normally include accommodation, breakfast and a rental car with comprehensive insurance against damage and theft. The packages also include a dossier of the chosen destination with many tips on places to visit and see, special beaches or where to eat off the beaten path. VAT, taxes and our administration fees (approximately €30 per person) are also always included in our packages.

We can also include optional activities through our network of collaborators in our destinations, such as excursions, wine tasting or a cooking course.
